Long Island City Farmers Market To Stay Open

The harvest season for 2011 has ended in the Northeastern U.S. but the farmers market in Long Island City will continue into the cold-weather months with a few adjustments. Instead of fresh produce, items such as artisan chocolates, sauces, jewelry and crafts will be on sale. And the market, which is located in the lobby of the Standard Motors building at 37-18 Northern Blvd., will be open on Wednesdays from noon to 5 p.m., a bit shorter than before. Seen here is Pat Pilla from Chee Bonnet selling her designer cheesecake balls at the market.
