Clinton Dems Lend Helping Hand To FreeMAT



The Clinton Democratic Club held its monthly meeting on November 16, at the offices of Vallone & Vallone in Flushing. President Paul Vallone welcomed and thanked everyone for the overwhelming successful Halloween Candy Drive and Thanksgiving Food Drive. Assemblymember Ed Braunstein paid a visit where he gave an update of the upcoming legislative 2012 session including his campus safety bill, upcoming budget and hydrofracking issues. Peter Kwiath, founder of FreeMAT (Freedom Medical Aid Team), spoke of his organization’s mission to collect unwrapped toys for children of our military soldiers servingover seas. QEDCs Public Relations, Marketing and Tourism Director Rob MacKay spoke of the corporation’s role in Queens, including offering small business owners a platform to assist in starting their businesses and sponsoring free events for Queens residents such as Restaurant Week and Taste of Queens. Jessica Julig, a local artist from Whitestone, spoke to the Clinton Club Kids about what inspired her to become an artist. The Clinton Democratic Club will not meet in December but instead is asking to drop off any additional unwrapped toys in support of FreeMAT until December 16.
