A 21-year-old Maspeth woman this week was fighting for her life after she was accidentally shot in the head on October 24, by a friend playing with a gun.
Cops said Delinan Cardova was in a basement apartment on 64th Street with friends at about 9:30 p.m. when Elijah Stamateris, 22, was playing with a handgun.
The weapon suddenly fired, sending one round into Cardova’s head.
Cops said Cardova and her three friends were smoking marijuana at the time of the shooting.
Cardova was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center where she remains in critical condition.
Stamateris was later charged with assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
