Queens Gets Its Share Of Trees



Queens Borough President Helen Marshall looks on as youngsters, including fifth-graders from P.S. 209, plant trees on October 26 at Fort Totten Park in Bayside. More than 1,500 trees were planted by volunteers as part of the city Department of Parks and Recreation’s Million Trees NYC campaign. The event was conducted in conjunction with the New York Restoration Project, whose goal is to plant 20,000 trees in parks citywide.
