Marshall Funds New FDNY Training Vehicle
On October 27, at Queens Borough Hall, Queens Borough President Helen Marshall and the FDNY unveiled a new Mobile Training Vehicle. Funded with $273,000 secured from Marshall’s office, the vehicle provides hands on training in forcible entry maneuvers, proper operation of breathing masks in smoke-filled situations and how to respond to events that require emergency or MAYDAY transmissions. In this photograph, Marshall and FDNY Chief of Department Edward Kilduff watch his fellow firefighters as they demonstrate the new vehicle by exiting through a prop window situated on its roof and dropping to an inflatable cushion below.
