Stroll on in to Tippin Inn and enjoy a relaxing evening with friends. Tippin Inn is a friendly, welcoming, neighborhood bar where you’ll find all your favorite beers, spirits and cocktails, as well as freshly made food and musical entertainment. The shiny wood bar is backed by European tiles and there are plenty of bar-height tables to relax on, while you watch your favorite game on the muted flat screens. There’s even a pool table for a friendly game at low cost, or have a drink on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and enjoy free billiards. Amiable proprietor Bobby Puccio, who owns Bartolino’s Italian Restaurant just next door, took over Tippin Inn about one year ago and made it a great place for singles, couples and families. On a recent Friday night, the crowd enjoyed a great mix of music from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s spun by the d.j., starting at 9:00pm. On Saturday nights, an acoustic guitarist plays classic rock favorites and other crowd pleasers while everyone mixes and mingles over drinks and food.

Every night, there’s a lively Happy Hour with food and drink specials…check the board outside. The lovely staff, led by Maira, Julia and Micki, greet you with a smile and offer excellent service. The cooks at Tippin Inn have taken “bar food“ to new heights by making everything from scratch, using the freshest, high quality ingredients, such as Angus steak and fresh chicken breast.

We started with some specialty cocktails: a “rendezvous” and a classic Cosmpolitan to start the evening off. A variety of beers, wines and mixed drinks are available at reasonable prices. The food menu includes everything from light snacks to grilled sandwiches, wraps, salads, burgers and entrĂ©e platters. We shared a Casa Bianca Salad tossed with mixed greens, tomatoes, mushrooms and cucumber, flanked by two juicy, grilled shrimp ($9). The classic Caesar salad is a great side salad, or can be topped with grilled chicken breast or steak for a meal in itself.

Appetizers are great for sharing and Tippin Inn makes excellent chicken quesadillas, a house favorite. Tender grilled chicken is nestled between two tortillas with freshly shredded jack and cheddar cheeses then grilled to gooey deliciousness. This was one of the best quesadillas ever, spread with a little salsa or sour cream ($7). Chicken tenders are hand cut from real chicken breasts that are never frozen. This explains how tender and juicy they are, breaded in light and crispy crumbs and gently fried. The accompanying honey mustard sauce is just right too. Micki suggested we try the hand cut French fries and were glad we did. These are light, crispy and perfectly seasoned, making them addictive! Bobby brought their version of Buffalo chicken wings “on steroids”. Indeed these mighty, meaty chicken wings and drumettes are perfectly cooked and served with an outrageous hot sauce, carrots, celery and bleu cheese dressing.

Tippin Inn uses high quality Angus beef to make their popular steak tidbits sandwich. In fact, these are not tidbits, but actual slices of juicy Angus beef, layered

on crusty garlic bread, then topped with melted mozzarella cheese. The homemade Worcestershire sauce is great for dipping into, and this warm sandwich makes a great dinner or late night snack. The same quality beef is used in the beef tacos, with all the trimmings, served in a soft taco shell. Other grilled sandwiches include Philly cheese steak, grilled chicken sandwich with or without cheese, chicken parmigiana and a juicy steak sandwich. Platters include grilled shell steak, cooked to order for just $16.95 and chicken parmigiana, as well as juicy burgers. I hear the pizza is great too, made with a thin, crispy crust in a 10-inch personal size.

Enjoy the music while you dine, which is not too loud, so you can still engage in conversation. Come now while the place is decked out in spooky Halloween decorations and bring some friends. Remember there’s a d.j. on Friday nights, live music on Saturday nights and Happy Hour specials every night. For a great night out right in the neighborhood, visit Tippin Inn. The food is great and you’ll certainly have a nice time. Cheers!
