A fall chill in the air didn’t keep throngs of people from turning out on October 23 to enjoy the annual 36th Avenue Street Festival in Long Island City. The festival featured a number of vendors offering Middle Eastern food, clothing, accessories and artwork. The festival, sponsored by the Dutch Kills Civic Association, also featured face painting, balloon animals, games of chance, live music and crime prevention tips and demonstrations by police at the 114th Precinct. –Liz Goff
