Happy Ending For Missing Woman

Police officials are sending kudos to cops at the 114th Precinct who last week located a missing Astoria woman.

Police issued a Silver Alert on October 14, for Mabel Jones, 89, after she was reported missing from her residence on 34th Avenue.

Cops said Jones had last been seen at her residence at about 7 p.m. on October 13 and had vanished when a friend stopped by to visit her on October 15.

Police at the Astoria Boulevard stationhouse released a photo of Jones and hit the streets in search of the missing woman. Cops found Jones, unharmed, on October 16 and returned her to her residence, authorities said.
