Crowley joined over 200 runners for the Annual Forest Park 5k Fun Run. The race benefited the Forest Park Trust, the organization that provides free educational, recreational and cultural events in Forest Park for people of all ages.
Crowley and a team of staff members took off from Victory Field to follow the course along the tree-lined Forest Park Drive.
A Children’s Field Day was also held before the run. Youngsters were able to compete in a series of field games such as the 50-yard dash, foam javelin throw, a bean bag shot-put and the standing long jump.
Serving the Kew Gardens, Forest Hills, Richmond Hill, Woodhaven and Glendale communities, Forest Park offers a wide variety of recreational activities for park-goers of all ages. Encompassing 538 acres, Forest Park is the third-largest park in Queens. Visitors enjoy hiking trails, athletic courts and fields, horseback riding, playgrounds, the Forest Park Golf Links and many more amenities.
Crowley said, “This Fun Run was a great opportunity for local residents to come together to support one of our most treasured parks here in Queens. It was also an opportunity to challenge our fitness while taking in the beauty Forest Park has offer.”
