St. Nicholas Hosts Greek Festival October 6 Thru 9
St. Nicholas welcomes all to Flushing for a taste of Greece and Cyprus.
The Greek Orthodox Shrine Church of St. Nicholas, 196-10 Northern Blvd., Flushing will hold their annual Greek Festival on October 6 through October 9. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the festival that has become an annual tradition for the church since 1971 when St. Nicholas was the first community to sponsor an ethnic festival in the metropolitan area. Featured attractions will include Greek music and foods from both Greece and Cyprus. Grecian desserts will include baklava and loukoumades. For those looking for a bargain there will be a Flea Market. Guests are also invited to visit the church itself. St. Nicholas was erected in 1971 and was cited by the Queens Chamber of Commerce for its architecture. The festival begins on October 6 at 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., October 7 at 6 p.m. until midnight, October 8 from noon until midnight and October 9 from noon until 8 p.m. Admission is free.
