Weprin Visits Summer Camp At P.S. 46

Last week, SASF participants welcomed Councilmember Mark S. Weprin who visited the summer camp run by the Sports & Arts in Schools Foundation (SASF) at P.S. 46 in Oakland Gardens. Weprin visited the school in recognition of the completion of this year’s program.  SASF receives funding from the City Council to offer summer programming, featuring sports and arts instructors, at about fifty school locations across the city.  The summer camp is open to all children in New York City and is free of charge to the participants. “SASF provides a safe, productive way for children to keep active during the summer,” Weprin said.  “In light of the continuing economic uncertainty, this program clearly benefits working parents who want their children to keep fit and to interact with their peers while school is closed.”
