On July 6, state Senator Joe Addabbo Jr. co-sponsored a free Tax Lien Assistance Outreach Event, along with Assemblymember Mike Miller and Councilmember Elizabeth Crowley. Constituents whose tax liens were on the list to be sold and who have been struggling with tax lien issues came out to P.S. 91, 68-10 Central Ave., Glendale. This free three-hour community event had representatives from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the Department Finance (DOF) and the Department of Housing and Preservation (HPD) assisting residents with their overdue property taxes, water/sewer bills and tax lien debts. “My office sent out invitations to this free session in Glendale to those of my constituents whose tax liens were in danger of being sold. Some 50 residents came to our outreach event in order to obtain help in avoiding the sale and worse, foreclosure due to nonpayment,” Addabbo said.
