Vallone Honors Two Egyptian Activists Involved In Revolution

On May 16, Councilmember Peter F. Vallone Jr. honored two young Egyptians for their bravery and impact on the revolution in Egypt during a brief ceremony held in Astoria. Since their return to America, Dina Amer (l), an Egyptian American television producer and Jawad Nabulsi (r.), an Egyptian social activist and founder of the Nebny Foundation who lost an eye to gunfire, have been widely recognized for their abilities to organize and disseminate information during the revolution. They joined members of various Egyptian organizations in an event organized by Mustafa Elshiekh (second from r.), in the heart of Little Egypt at the Ciaro Steakhouse on Steinway Street where they discussed the importance of staying involved and connected with Egypt.
