The Makeup Show NYC Holds 6th Annual Beauty Event

Photos By Vinny DuPrePhotos By Vinny DuPreLocated at the Metropolitan Pavilion, The Makeup Show NYC held its sixth annual convention for cosmetologists. The event also travels to Chicago and Berlin.

 

There was a pre-show event on May 13 which featured a live demo on stage by Crown Brush makeup artist Tate who was a finalist on Syfy TV’s show, Face Off as well as artists from Dex NY, Make Up Forever, Armor Beauty, Make You Beautiful, Eve Pearl and more. They beautified models as well as marionettes dressed only in body makeup and dancing to music.

 

The main show on May 15 and 16 and it showcased 60 pro-focused brands not available anywhere else. The first floor was filled with booths and spectators. A new addition to the show was the career and resource section occupying the whole second and third floors with opportunities for portfolio reviews, meeting one on one with top agencies, producers and acclaimed makeup artists. One could easily find here inspiration, networking and education in technique. Attendees could observe close-up techniques and products that are seen on the red carpet, fashion runways, film and in print. This valuable resource was included with the entry fee. There were workshops on the fourth and fifth floors for an additional fee, but supplies, minus brushes, were included.

 

The highly anticipated show delivered the biggest names in the industry, such as Reggie Wells, Sam Fine, Dany Sanz and Billy B, artists who work on top celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga, Tyra Banks and Gwyneth Paltrow to name a few. The event was sponsored by MAKEUP FOR EVER, INGLOT, Temptu Pro, Crown Brush, Stila, Obsessive Compulsive, Smashbox, Alcone, Senna Yves Saint Laurent, MAC, NARS, and more. It is a must attend for all beauty professionals.
