Team Vallone Vs Variety Boys & Girls Club

Youngsters from Astoria’s Variety Boys & Girls Club challenged Councilmember Peter F. Vallone Jr. and his staff on May 3 during several rounds of geography, math and history questions inspired by the hit TV show Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader. More than 100 young men and women packed the club’s gymnasium to watch their peers, Vallone and staff compete in a variety of other games as well. Vallone and staff, dubbed the “Killer V’s”, will return to the club on May 12 to compete in a basketball tournament against board members and staff.
