Hundreds Participate In Walk For QCP, Raised $24K

More than 350 people turned out for this year’s annual Queens Centers for Progress (QCP) 5 Mile Walk With Me event. Walkers gathered on April 9, at the QCP Adult Center in Jamaica where they headed north up 164th Street to Kissena Park. After doing a lap around the park, the walkers returned to the Adult Center where a full brunch was served compliments of the Palace Diner. More than 100 of the participants were students from local high schools including Bayside H.S., R.F.K H.S and Francis Lewis H.S. of Flushing, Grover Cleveland H.S. of Ridgewood, Hillcrest H.S. of Jamaica, Richmond Hill H.S., Townsend Harris H.S. of Flushing, St. Mary’s H.S. of Manhasset and J.H.S. 194 of Whitestone. More than $24,000 was raised for QCP, which will be used to support services and programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
