Weiner Awards Bronze Medal To Student
On February 24, Congressmember Anthony Weiner issued the Bronze Medal on behalf of the Congressional Award, to Dan Wang, student of Hunter College H.S. In the ceremony held in Weiner’s Kew Gardens office, Wang told the Congressmember, “It is a challenge to take time out of my school schedule to serve the community, however, I like the challenge. I believe young people should take this kind of challenge.” The bronze medal requires 100 hours of voluntary service, 50 hours of personal development, 50 hours of physical fitness and one overnight expedition with a minimum of seven months of activity. Participation gives the opportunity for youth to set goals, and achieve them thereby developing skills of planning, organization and responsibility.
