State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo Jr. received the Champion Award from the New York Association on Independent Living at Independence Residences, a Woodhaven based group dedicated to advocating for those individuals with disabilities. Addabbo was given the award on February 28, for his efforts toward passing Chapter 505 legislation that ensures the disabled access to voting.
