Governor Andrew M. Cuomo issued an executive order on February 17 establishing a team to explore ways of meeting the goal of expanding minority and women owned business enterprise (M/WBE) participation in state contracting to 20 percent. Assemblymember Grace Meng was the only Queens elected official to be appointed to the M/WBE team. “As a member of the New York state Assembly’s Small Business Committee, I am proud to be a part of such a dynamic team under Governor Cuomo’s leadership.
