114th Precinct Cops Nab Purse Snatcher
Police at the 114th Precinct didn’t waste any time tracking down and arresting a purse snatcher who grabbed a local student’s bag.
Police said Joshua Terry, 20, allegedly shoved the female student into a pole near her school on 30th Road and 14th Street at about 6 p.m. on November 20.
The heartless thief then yanked the girl’s bag from her shoulder, swiping her iPod and cellphone, before tossing the bag into a nearby trash bin.
Eyewitnesses told police Terry then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
A dean at the girl’s school recovered the bag a short while later, minus the stolen items, police sources said.
The age and the name of the victim’s school are being withheld by police.
Cops at the Astoria Boulevard stationhouse tracked down Terry on December 14 and charged him with grand larceny.
He was held in lieu of $5,000 bail or $2,500 cash bond at his arraignment at Queens Criminal Court.
