Cops Hunt Suspects In Execution Slay

Queens detectives are seeking help from the public to identify and locate two gunmen who opened fire on October 4 outside a Glen Oaks restaurant, leaving one man dead and his female companion seriously wounded.

Lemaria Rennalds, 30, and the woman were getting into a Jeep Grand Cherokee near the Platinum Palace Indian Restaurant on Union Turnpike at about 3 a.m. on October 4 when two men approached the Jeep on foot and opened fire on the pair. Rennalds was shot five times in the chest and was taken to Nassau County Hospital, where he died a short while later.

The woman, Kenecka Jones, 20, was struck several times in the legs and is listed in stable condition at a local hospital, police said.

Eyewitnesses told investigators they heard more than a dozen shots, some from an automatic weapon. The gunmen fled the scene on foot, eyewitnesses also said.

Police sources said Rennalds had a record of arrests for gun possession and grand larceny. Detectives are still searching for a motive for the shootings.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Crimestoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.

The Hotline is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
