Police Hunt Armed Suspect In Wendy’s Holdup
Police in Bayside are searching for an armed bandit who held up a Wendy’s fast food restaurant on August 8.
Cops said the suspect walked into the restaurant at 220-06 Northern Blvd. at about 9:40 p.m. on August 8 where he threatened workers with a black handgun, jumped over the counter and ordered the workers to open the cash registers.
The suspect grabbed an undetermined amount of cash and fled on foot in an unknown direction, police said.
A store surveillance camera caught the bandit rifling through the cash registers and heading toward the street, police said.
The suspect is described as a male black, approximately 25 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a maroon windbreaker, red polo shirt, blue shorts, white leggings, white sneakers and a dark colored hat at the time of the robbery, police said.
Cops said the suspect was also carrying a dark colored backpack.
