“T-BONE DINER” STILL GOING STRONG
For a great meal any time of day or night, seven days a week, visit the landmark T-Bone Diner where Queens residents have been enjoying delicious food, made from scratch, since 1934. Since they’re open 24 hours a day, there’s always a good time to stop in.

Enjoy breakfast at the TBone, which is served all day, to stay or to go, on your way to work, as the subway is right outside the door. The griddle man makes fluffy omelets, golden pancakes and Belgian waffles, straight up or topped with fruit. Eggs are made any style and can be ordered with flapjacks or French toast made from thick cut challah bread. The Monte Cristo is a diner classic made with French toast layered with turkey and melted Swiss cheese. This breakfast will hold you until dinner. On weekends, enjoy a leisurely brunch with friends.
The T-Bone does a brisk lunch business too, serving juicy burgers with your favorite toppings, wraps, triple-decker turkey club sandwiches, house made soups and salads. A house favorite is the grilled chicken Caesar wrap with melted Swiss cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. The hefty sandwiches are piled high with lean roast beef and turkey, chicken salad, egg salad and lots more. A healthy Greek salad makes a satisfying meal, loaded with juicy tomatoes, feta cheese, olives and stuffed grape leaves. There are hot lunch specials each day posted on the menu.
It’s too hot to cook dinner at home so the TBone Diner has you covered. Monday to Friday there are complete dinner specials priced from $9.95 to $13.95, making a wholesome dinner
within reach to all. There are different entrees to choose from each night, there’s always something new to try. Monday offers old-fashioned beef stew or half potted chicken. Wednesday features a whole lamb shank, cooked to perfection so the meat slides right off the bone and old fashioned chicken pot pie. If you visit on Friday you can have pepper steak or beef goulash. Saturdays and Sundays feature roast loin of pork or leg of lamb. The complete dinner includes house made soup such as tonight’s French onion or a generously sized crunchy salad, entrée, and a complimentary glass of wine. The signature T-Bone steak is a classic, hefty, sizzling T-Bone, cooked to order and served with crunchy onion rings and mushroom caps.
There are fantastic sauteed dishes such as my fork-tender chicken Francese, served over pasta or with rice. Italian pasta dishes such as spaghetti carbonara and linguine with clam sauce rival those in fancy Italian
restaur ants. Fish and seafood dishes are made with the fresh catches of the day and include bluefish, bass or scrod. Flaky fillet of sole is stuffed with crabmeat and spinach while Alaskan salmon is broiled with lemon. My dining companion enjoyed a platter of jumbo shrimp, stuffed with crabmeat and bread crumbs, perfectly seasoned and broiled until golden brown. The shrimp were very tender and the side dish of fresh vegetables was perfect. Owing to their Greek roots, you’ll find homemade, savory spinach pie, moussaka, pastitsio and juicy chicken kebabs laced with vegetables over seasoned rice
As you enter the sparkling clean dining room, you’ll see a glass refrigerated case displaying a wide array of dazzling desserts, all made on the premises. Just try and decide among creamy cheesecake, plain, or with fruit, rice pudding, bread pudding, strawberry shortcake, carrot cake and German chocolate cake with coconut, baklava and more. We enjoyed a towering wedge of lemon meringue pie and their made-from-scratch rice pudding.
Ice cream treats such as banana splits and sundaes, make the kids finish their dinner, ordered from the special kid’s menu.
