Mt. Sinai Queens Celebrates 11th Anniversary

On June 24, Mount Sinai Queens celebrated its 11th anniversary marking its union with the Mount Sinai Medical Center family. The festivities took place outdoors in the annex courtyard of the hospital, a fitting place, as this was the original hospital entrance used more than a century ago.
Executive Director Caryn A. Schwab opened the program by welcoming hospital staff, including physicians, members of the hospital advisory board and community leaders and partners.
“The anniversary is a wonderful time to reflect on the past year’s accomplishments and, most importantly, recognize our dedicated staff with Employee Excellence awards,” Schwab said.
City Councilmember Peter Vallone Jr. took time from his schedule to congratulate the entire hospital staff and pass on memories of how important the hospital has been to several members of Vallone’s immediate family.

Awards were presented for Service Excellence, Employee of the Year, Physician of the Year, Team of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Manager of the Year. The festivities included music and cake.
“I am grateful that the rain held out and that so many people turned out to celebrate another milestone for Mount Sinai Queens,” Schwab said. For more pictures see page 45
