'We Are All Americans' Ends CALDC Summer Fun Series

The final shows of the 2009 "Summer Fun" Children's Series presented by the Central Astoria Local Development Coalition will be performed on Tuesday, August 11 in Athens Square Park and on Wednesday, August 12 at the Dutch Kills Playground. "We Are All Americans", a wonderful, interactive program, introduces children to the cultural treasures of America's diverse immigrant communities. Athens Square Park is located at 30th Avenue and 30th Street; the Dutch Kills Playground is at 36th Avenue and Crescent Street. Performances start at 10:30 a.m.

The Summer Fun Children's Series provides entertainment featuring artists specializing in children's performances in the field of music, storytelling and theater. Over the years, these performances have been greatly enjoyed by children of all ages. This year's series is the best yet!

The "Summer Fun" Children's Series is made possible in part with funds provided by City Councilmember Peter Vallone Jr.; through a grant from the city Department of Youth and Community Development; The Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts administered by the Queens Council on the Arts; Athens Square Inc.; City Councilmember Eric Gioia through the Dutch Kills Civic Association, and in part by public funds from the city Department of Cultural Affairs.
