5-Year-Old Injured In Astoria Gunplay

Queens detectives are searching for the thugs who shot and injured a five-year-old girl and a 33-year-old man on May 28 at the NYCHA Astoria Houses.
Police said Diamond Flowers was walking with her grandmother outside her apartment building at Astoria Boulevard and Eighth Street at about 3:30 p.m. when her head was grazed by a bullet during gunfire exchanged by two groups of men at the notorious housing development.
Paramedics rushed the little girl to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where she was treated and released several hours later, police said.
Police said the unidentified man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens, where he is listed in stable condition.
Detectives are continuing their search for suspects in the gunplay.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Crimestoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
