Crystal Makes Crain's List Of Minority-Owned Companies

Crystal, with headquarters in College Point, is the only manufacturer listed by Crain's as a Top Minority Firm that is located in New York City.
Crystal Window & Door Systems achieved a significant milestone with its ranking on the recent Crain's New York Business annual list of the "New York Area's Largest Minority-Owned Companies". Crystal's inclusion represents the 10th consecutive year the Queens-based manufacturer of vinyl and aluminum windows has made the prestigious list, confirming its presence as a leading minority business enterprise. The list, which is based on corporate annual sales revenue, was published in the June 30, 2008 edition of Crain's New York Business and includes such notable minority firms as Goya Foods, Sean Diddy Combs' Bad Boy Entertainment, Bartlett Dairy, Dial-A-Mattress and Gaseteria Oil.

Crystal was one of only four manufacturing firms to make the 2008 Crain's top minority firms list and is the only manufacturer located in New York City. For the past two years, Crain's also ranked Crystal Windows as the second largest firm in terms of New York City employees on its annual top 25 minority firms list.

Thomas Chen, Crystal president and founder, attributes the recognition to the company's employees. "Like me, many of Crystal's employees are minority immigrants, and their intelligence, dedication and hard work have been at the core of the company's success and growth over the past decade," Chen said. "Since Crystal first made the Crain's top minority firm list back in 1999, company revenues have tripled and Crystal employees deserve the credit."

Crystal's ranking on the Crain's "New York Area's Largest Minority-Owned Companies" list for the 10th consecutive year rounds out a year that has seen Crystal and its founder receive several major national minority business recognitions. In February, Crystal received the Outstanding Minority Business Award from the National Minority Business Council (NMBC). Chen also received the Minority Business Leadership Award from the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) in May of this year.
