VB&G Club Wins All-Star Home Run Derby
At the All-Star Home Run Derby on Monday night at Yankee Stadium, the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens emerged the winner. Justin Morneau of the Minnesota Twins represented the Variety Boys and Girls Club on the field and won the competition. Thanks to Morneau's hitting, Variety Boys and Girls Club member Tiffany Alvarez (shown), chosen to represent the club, brought back $60,000 for the organization- $50,000 won in the Home Run Derby and $10,000 for the Variety Boys and Girls Club having been chosen as one of the clubs represented in the competition.
