Borough-Wide Blotter Police arrested a 22-year-old United Parcel Service employee on June 16 after he confessed to stealing two Macintosh iBook computers from a truck parked inside the delivery service depot in Maspeth. Miguel Bravo, a UPS truck loader, confessed during questioning about the two missing computers that disappeared from a truck parked inside the UPS facility on 56th Road and 46th Street. Bravo told detectives he took the computers from a package inside the truck. The computers were recovered from a duffel bag in Bravo's car, police said. Bravo was charged with grand larceny and possession of stolen property. One Arrested In Home Robbery Police arrested a 33-year-old Queens man on June 17 after he forced his way into a Middle Village home where he robbed the residents at gunpoint. The suspect and an accomplice burst into the home on 63rd Street at about 7 p.m. on June 17, where they held the terrified homeowners at gunpoint while they rifled through the residence, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash. According to police the gunmen failed to notice that one of the residents fled the home during the holdup and called police for help. The two suspects fled the scene before police arrived, but officers at the 104th Police Precinct tracked the getaway vehicle to 79th Street and Furmanville Avenue, where one suspect was arrested. The other suspect fled the scene before police arrived. Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of the accomplice to call the Crimestoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. 109th Pecinct Hunt Is On For Robbery Suspect Queens detectives are seeking help from the public to identify and locate a suspect in a string of jewelry store holdups in Manhattan and Flushing. The suspect and an accomplice burst into the stores where they smash jewelry cases with a hammer, grab as much jewelry as they can carry and flee the scene of the heist. The suspect being sought is described as Hispanic, 5-feet-eight-inches to five-feet-ten-inches tall, with a medium build and a moustache. Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to call the Crimestoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. 112th Precinct Probe DOA Near Precinct Police in Forest Hills are awaiting the results of testing by the Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause of death of a woman whose body was found near the 112th Police Precinct on June 11th. Police responding to a 911 call made the grisly discovery and alerted city paramedics, who declared the woman dead at the scene a short while later.
