Mother's Day Salute
A copy of the following letter was received by the Gazette. My Dear Roseanne,

There are no words to tell you how much I appreciate all you did for me these past three months. Without you I would have not had the courage to beat "this thing". You were, you are my strength, and I love you so much for all your gentleness, your kindness and your willingness to help me.

I have always blessed the day you were born, never more so than now. There is just no comparison for a daughter's love for her mom, nor is there a comparison for the love of a mom for her children.

Please tell Ronnie that I so dearly appreciate his letting you stay with me. It was most understanding of hin and I feel he is a very compassionate person. My most sincere thanks to him during this time of my need.

My dear, sweet child, take care of yourself. Be well, enjoy life to the fullest, and always remember how dearly loved you are. May our merciful God gently hold you and all those you love, in His tender arms. Devotedly, Mom [Madeline Gasparre] Astoria
