St. Robert Bellarmine Parish Plans 3rd Annual Golf Outing

St. Robert Bellarmine H S A will hold their third annual Monsignor John B. Lavin Golf Outing on Monday, May 19 at Harbor Links Golf Course, One Fairway Dr., Port Washington, New York. Proceeds will help to enhance the school's media center and cafeteria.

Monsignor John B. Lavin held a vision for the parish of St. Robert Bellarmine: that its school would flourish and that the church would be full every Sunday. The parish has held this golf outing annually to further this vision and in memory of Lavin's continually striving to achieve his goals.

The parish also confers the Monsignor John B. Lavin Award on a person who has done the most to uphold Lavin's ideals and vision for the parish. The 2008 recipient of the award is Bob Coccia of Bob Coccia's Appliance Center. Coccia is noted for having given generously of his time, talent and treasure to the parish for the past 40 years, including providing donations to be used in school and parish raffles. Coccia is a founding member of the Parish Council and was appointed a trustee of the parish by Lavin.

Shotgun start time for the May 19 event is noon. The day includes use of a golf cart and all Harbor Links facilities, 18 holes of golf, use of the driving range, welcome brunch, barbecue lunch, cocktails and dinner. For more information, contact Martha Medina, 718-207-0966.
