Breslin Reads From Good Rat At Jackson Heights Library

Author and columnist Jimmy Breslin reads from his latest book, The Good Rat, to an audience of fans at the Jackson Heights branch of the Queens Borough Public Library on Saturday, May 3.
More than 100 fans of Jimmy Breslin gathered in the Jackson Heights branch of the Queens Borough Public Library on Saturday, May 3 to greet Pulitzer Prize winning author/columnist Jimmy Breslin in a discussion and book signing following the release of his book, The Good Rat. The Good Rat tells the story of "Rat" Burt Kaplan, who testified against two New York City detectives indicted for being hit men for organized crime. Breslin stated he was extremely impressed by his testimony, claiming, "Kaplan was one of the most amazing witnesses I've ever seen."

Breslin read excerpts from his book, and answered questions from the audience. Breslin is noted for his expertise on a wide range of topics, and the group questioned him on politics, religion, sports and journalism. He answered in typical, no-holds-barred Breslin fashion, which drew laughter and applause.
