Crowley Attends Bill Signing Awarding Medal To Nobelist
President George W. Bush signs H.R. 4286, conferring a Congressional Gold Medal on Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, during a ceremony Tuesday, May 6, in the Oval Office. The medal was awarded to the Nobel Laureate for her courageous and unwavering commitment to peace, nonviolence, human rights, and democracy in Burma. Joining him for the signing are First Lady Laura Bush, Congressmember Joseph Crowley (D-Jackson Heights); Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-California); Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky), and Congressmember Don Manzullo of Illinois.
