Horn Is ICCFA Certified Cemetery Executive Cemetery, East Elmhurst, was awarded a Certified Cemetery Executive (CCE) designation during the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) Annual Convention & Exposition, March 26-29 in San Diego, California. Horn has been a director and officer of the corporation at St. Michael's for more than seven years. Horn is a member of the ICCFA Government & Legal Affairs Committee. He also has held committee positions with the Cremation Association of North America and the Metropolitan (New York) Funeral Directors Association. In 2005 he led St. Michael's Cemetery's entry in ICCFA's KIP Awards, earning First Place and the Grand Prize for a memorial the cemetery created honoring the Queens firefighters who died on 9/11. He has also written many articles for ICCFA Magazine, American Cemetery Magazine, Southern Funeral Director and Death Care Business Advisor. Horn, active in his community is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. The CCE designation recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a high level of cemetery management experience and skills. The ICCFA also offers Certified Cemetery Funeral Executive, Certified Cremation Executive, Certified Funeral Executive and Certified Supplier Executive designations to qualified individuals. All five certifications are intended to raise the standards of those engaged in cemetery, cremation and funeral management, to encourage individuals to participate in a program of continuing education and development and to encourage self-assessment through guidelines for achievement. The ICCFA executive designation program also assists in identifying people with extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of cemetery, cremation and funeral management, of related disciplines and of laws governing the profession. Founded in 1887, the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association is the only international trade association representing all segments of the cemetery, cremation, funeral and memorialization industry. Its membership is composed of more than 7,200 cemeteries, funeral homes, crematories, memorial designers and related businesses worldwide. |
