Bumped AP Seeks $2M

A former Queens Village elementary school assistant principal, demoted for calling a group of fourth-graders "animals" and making them eat with their hands, is suing two teachers and a parent who complained to authorities about her actions, law enforcement sources said.

Sources said Nancy Miller, formerly an assistant principal at P.S. 34, has named two former teachers at the Springfield Boulevard school, Margarette Tassy and Marie Fouche, and parent Francia Devil in a lawsuit she filed in Queens Supreme Court, where she is seeking $2 million in damages.

Sources said Miller is claiming the three women made false allegations to the press and school investigators that she denigrated and humiliated a dozen "loud" students in March 2005.

Miller was demoted from her position in April 2005 after school investigators substantiated several of the allegations, including that she had called the students "animals" and made them eat lunch without utensils.

School investigators subsequently refuted charges that Miller had targeted Haitian students in the incident.- Liz Goff
