Time Warner Cable Donates $150 K To Kids' Charities

The Police Athletic League Duncan Center in New York City was a beneficiary of Time Warner Cable's Annual Children's Campaign. Shown with children from the Duncan Center are (l. to r.): Suzanne Giuliani of Time Warner Cable New York City region, Cathryn Wright of the Duncan Center and Barbara Metersky of PAL headquarters.
Seven local nonprofit organizations focused on children's issues are the beneficiaries of Time Warner Cable's Annual Children's Campaign. The funds were raised through a recent customer campaign promoting child safety, education through community service, digital literacy and child abuse prevention.

According to Vice President, Public Affairs Harriet Novet, the beneficiary organizations are: Child Abuse Prevention Program, Guardian Angels/ CyberAngels, Police Athletic League (PAL), Boys & Girls Club of Mt. Vernon, Staten Island Children's Campaign, Englewood Area Community Foundation and Make-AWish Foundation of Hudson Valley.

"Time Warner Cable has a long tradition of giving back to the communities where our customers live by lending our resources for local initiatives and public awareness campaigns. This campaign was developed to support local groups that cultivate and empower young people," Novet said. "Time Warner Cable is part of the fabric of the communities we serve through scholarships and contributions to grassroots organizations. This particular contribution reflects the generosity of our customers."

Created in 1989, the annual campaign helps provide much-needed funds to service organizations that enhance education and develop skills for children. The company's local philanthropic work focuses on young people, education, digital literacy, the arts and culture. Time Warner Cable has donated over $3.5 million to children's organizations alone over the last 20 years.
