Volunteers Wanted At New York Cares

New York Cares, the city's leading volunteer organization, has hundreds of ways for Queens residents to get involved in their community, and becoming a volunteer is easy.

Simply attend a one-time orientation, and then choose from more than 900 citywide projects. Orientation for new volunteers will be held in Queens at the following locations during March:

March 18, A.R.R.O.W. Community Center, 35- 30 35th St., Astoria, and March 20, Forest Hills library, 108-19 71st Ave., Forest Hills, both from 6:15-7:15 p.m.

•Sorting at materials for the Arts, Long Island City

•Debate and Discuss with Jacob Riis Seniors, Long Island City

•Family Literacy at P.S. 131-Abigail Adams School, Jamaica

•Cat care at the Animal Center of Queens, Woodhaven

•Computer Tutorials at Jacob Riis, Long Island City
