Harpell's Pharmacy Offers Free antibiotics? How could it be? How can an independent community pharmacy be able to give away medication for free, while large local corporate chain drug stores do not offer such incredible promotions? The answer at Harpell's Ditmars Pharmacy is simple. "It's a no strings attached way of giving back to the community," owner Joseph Isaakidis said. "Since my brother and I have brought the Harpell name to Astoria, the community has welcomed us and helped us feel at home. Each day, the pharmacy department gets busier and busier with new customers and this promotion will help us show those who haven't tried us, what excellent service our team provides. We're confident that the patients' experience with us will keep them coming back, so it's also an investment." How does it work? "We've distributed vouchers to local physicians, and when accompanied with a valid prescription for one of the included drugs, the patients will walk out with their medication, a oneon one pharmacist consultation, the same amount of money in their pocket and a thankful smile on their face." George Isaakidis, brother of Joseph, explained. "That's what we're about- trying to make our patients smile, even though they might be sick." What if you don't have a voucher? "Just ask Marina, our full-time pharmacist, Joseph or George to call your doctor and we'll gladly send them some. One thing about using our pharmacies is that we always make it as easy as possible for the patient and not more difficult than it needs to be. So don't worry- you're in good hands with us," the brothers declared. The Harpell's team has always prided themselves on customer service. Their new endeavor in Astoria is no different. "Our focus has always been and always will be the patient," they say.
Harpell's Ditmars Pharmacy is located at 33-08 Ditmars Blvd., Astoria, telephone 718-278-5454. The antibiotics promotion is in effect only at the Ditmars Boulevard store. |
