Gallagher Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor, Will Step Down

City Councilmember Dennis Gallagher will plead guilty to misdemeanor charges stemming from an incident that took place in his Middle Village office last summer. According to sources, Gallagher will apologize for his conduct in court, relinquish his office as representative of the 30th Council District and Minority Whip and begin treatment.
Gallagher had been originally been charged with sexual assault after a woman alleged that she and Gallagher had encountered each other In a bar and later gone to his Metropolitan Avenue office, where the alleged attack had occurred.
