Turn The Tide On Breast Cancer

You can make a difference by participating in an informative discussion about the genetics of breast cancer and steps that can be taken to save lives.

On Wednesday, March 19 at 7 p.m. Shareing & Careing Cancer Support Services and Livestrong Survivorship Center of Excellence Network will be holding a seminar at Riccardo's by the Bridge, 21-01 24th Ave., Astoria.

Join guest speaker Panagiotis Manolas, M.D., chief of surgery Mount Sinai Hospital Queens, clinical assistant professor Mount Sinai School of Medicine specializing in breast surgery and recognized as one of the "Top Doctors for the NY Metro Area" 2000-2008.

Discussions will include hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, what is the breast cancer gene, who should be tested, how do patients get tested and what are the risk-reducing options.

The seminar is funded by New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, Councilmember Peter Vallone Jr., Assemblymember Michael Gianaris and state Senator George Onorato.
