York College Earns ECAC Tournament Bid

 

The York College men’s basketball team was one of eight teams selected on Monday, March 3 to play in the 2008 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Division Men’s Basketball Championship.  The Cardinals received the number two seed from the selection committee and are slated to host seventh-seeded New Jersey City University on Wednesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the York College Gymnasium.


Stevens Institute of Technology earned the top seed in the tournament and will host the College of Staten Island in the opening round.  In the other two first round match-ups, third-seeded St. Joseph’s (Long Island) will take on New York University and fourth-seeded Brooklyn College will battle Rutgers-Newark.


In addition, New Jersey City University will provide a live Webcast of the action atwww.njcugothicknights.com/


A win by York will advance the Cardinals to the semifinals on Saturday, March 8  to face the winner of the St. Joseph’s vs. NYU contest at a time and place to be announced.
