The New York Mets today announced that single game tickets for their final season at Shea Stadium will go on sale this Sunday, March 9 at
9:00 a.m. Single game ticket prices for the 2008 home season start at $5. More than 700,000 tickets for 34 of the Mets’ 81 regular season games are priced at $10 or under. The March 9 single game ticket on sale coincides with the start of Daylight Savings Time.

Limited inventory for Opening Day, the Subway Series at Shea, and the final regular season game at Shea are available in Mets Season Tickets, select Ticket Plans, and select Seven Packs. Single game tickets for these five games sold out through an online random drawing in February that generated in excess of 275,000 registrations.

Fans have purchased more than 2.25 million tickets for 2008 and tickets sales are pacing 15% ahead of last year’s comparable year-to-date record setting sales. Full Season Ticket holders in 2008 will have priority in purchasing Season Tickets at Citi Field, the new Mets ballpark, opening in 2009. The Mets open their 81-date home schedule Tuesday, April 8 against the division rival Philadelphia Phillies.

The 2008 Mets schedule – including an up-to-date listing of the Mets’ 35 promotional dates offering more than 500,000 promotional giveaways, heritage and theme days/nights, and other special events – is available at Mets.com and LosMets.com.
