Hails Maloney
To The Editor:

I applaud Congressmember [Carolyn] Maloney for restoring over $31 million for wounded veterans.

These wounded veterans deserve care, both medically, surgically and [in] rehab. We must not neglect them.

I also applaud the extra needed funds for homeland security in our subways and mass transit systems given to us by the federal government. This funding will promote anti-terrorism protection for the most vulnerable city in the world. I also am strongly in favor of Eric Adams' bill in the New York state legislature to make the crime of attacking or killing a good samaritan a felony. A person who risks his or her own life to come to another's aid must be honored.

Also, let us stick to the serious issues facing our nation in voting for presidential nominations. Race, gender, religion and other personal issues have nothing to do with improving this country's serious issues. Cynthia Groopman Long Island City
