114th Precinct Blotter Highlights

Monday, January 14:

• Under the direct supervision of 114th Police Precinct Commanding Officer Inspector Brian McCarthy, a search warrant was executed at 41-13 12th St. and a 20-yearold black male was arrested for the possession and sale of marijuana and charged with criminal sale of marijuana and criminal possession of marijuana. Marijuana and an undisclosed amount of United States currency were confiscated as evidence.

• Two black males 51 and 57 years old were charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal trespass after they were observed stealing property from within 14-19 Broadway and the 51-year-old male was found in possession of a knife.

• A 28-year-old white male was in a vehicle accident at Hoyt Avenue North and 31st Street, at which time he exhibited signs of an altered condition. Narcotics were found inside the vehicle and the suspect was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, refusal to take a Breathalyzer test and operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs.

Sunday, January 13:

• Two Asian males, both 16 years old, were charged with criminal possession of marijuana after they were observed smoking marijuana in public at 25-44 Steinway St.

• A 20-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal possession of a weapon after he was found in possession of a knife at 36th Avenue and 37th Street.

• A 29-year-old Hispanic male was observed drinking beer in public at 37th Street and 36th Avenue and upon further investigation, was found in possession of marijuana. He was charged with having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in public and unlawful possession of marijuana.

• A 17-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal possession of marijuana after he was observed in possession of marijuana in public at 36th Avenue and 37th Street.

• A 19-year-old Hispanic male was charged with having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in public after he was observed drinking vodka in public at 36th Avenue and 33rd Street. On further investigation, he was also found to be wanted on two warrants.

• A 39-year-old Hispanic male was observed passed out in a vehicle with its engine running at the intersection of Broadway and 45th Street. On further investigation, he exhibited signs of intoxication and was charged with DWI

• A 22-year-old male was charged with assault and theft of service after he struck a victim and attempted to flee a for-hire vehicle without paying the fare. The incident occurred at 35th Avenue and 34th Street.

• A 36-year-old Hispanic male was charged with assault after he slapped a victim in the face at 23-28 32nd St.

• A 13-year-old black male was charged with grand larceny after he stole a cellphone from a victim's hand at 38-01 35th Ave.

• A 49-year-old Hispanic male was charged with unlawful imprisonment, criminal mischief and harassment after he broke a victim's cellphone, dragged her up the stairs and refused to let her leave 21-32 33rd Ave.

• A 17-year-old Hispanic female was charged with criminal possession of a weapon after she was found in possession of a gravity knife at 24-63 46th St.

• A 29-year-old white male was charged with assault and harassment after he bit a victim's hand and punched her in the head at 23- 06 21st St.

• A 21-year-old white male was charged with grand larceny, criminal mischief and resisting arrest at 8-10 27th Ave. after he was found to be wanted on an active warrant.

Saturday, January 12:

• An 18-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal possession of marijuana after he was observed in possession of marijuana in public at Steinway Street and 34 Avenue.

• Two Hispanic men, each 18 years old, and two white males and one black male, all 19 years old, and two females 17 and 20 years old, were charged with criminal possession of marijuana after they were observed with marijuana in public at 35-18 37th St.

• A 20-year-old white male and a 22-yearold Hispanic female were charged with criminal possession of marijuana after they were observed smoking marijuana in public at 36th Avenue and 32nd Street.

• A 22-year-old white female was charged with obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct when she blocked pedestrian traffic, thereby preventing officers from making arrests, at 36th Avenue and 32nd Street.

• A 49-year-old Asian male refused to leave 23-82 28th St., violating a valid order of protection, and was charged with criminal contempt.

• A 53-year-old Hispanic male was charged with having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in public after he was observed drinking alcohol in public at Newtown Avenue and 30th Street. On further investigation, he was found to have an active warrant.

• A 48-year-old white male was charged with menacing and harassment after he pushed a victim against a metal gate at Newtown Road and 30th Avenue.

• A 39-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal possession of marijuana after he was observed with marijuana in public at 30-73 37th St.

• A 30-year-old Hispanic male was charged with assault after he struck a victim with a baseball bat at 40-11 25th Ave.

• A 19-year-old Hispanic male was charged with having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in public after he was observed drinking rum in public at 25-27 36th Ave. and could not produce identification.

• A 27-year-old black male was charged with criminal possession of marijuana after he was found in possession of marijuana at 33rd Avenue and 28th Street.
