Children's Programs At The Queens Theatre
The New Year begins with this Hans Christian Andersen musical classic taking the stage at Queens Theatre. New Jersey based Michael Tabenslag Productions presents the adventures of Ariel and an exciting voyage under the sea. Taubenslag Productions is a Professional Touring Children's Theater Company dedicated to presenting quality family entertainment. Their productions have been captivating audiences throughout the nation since 1964. Their formula is simple: Never talk down to the children; Always keep a fast pace; And visually stimulate their imaginations. The goal is not merely to entertain the children, but to bring out the child in their parents as well; making it a memorable experience for everyone in the entire family.
11:00 am & 1:00
Giant puppets dance and act in narrated ballets to two beloved Beatrix Potter stories with music by William Walton: Jemima Puddle Duck & The Story of the Fierce Bad Rabbit. Hudson Vagabond Puppets creates larger-than-life puppetry and mask programs designed to entertain children and their families. Their performers are professional dancers and actors. Clad in black, the puppeteers borrow from the traditional Japanese Bunraku style of puppetry, becoming mere shadows of the enormous figures they bring to life. This full-scale theatrical production uses masks, costumes, and rod puppets up to 8 feet tall.
