For the past 35 years, Holy Cross H.S., Flushing has worked hand in hand with the Walter Kaner Children's Foundation to put together a special Holiday Party for disadvantaged, handicapped and developmentally challenged children in New York. This year, 15 freshmen from Holy Cross gathered on the Monday before Thanksgiving at Terrace on the Park to set up the entire party, from setting tables to blowing up 1,000 balloons, one for each child attending the event. The following day, those same students returned for the actual event, greeting children as they arrived, serving food, cleaning up and distributing toys. The music was provided by Holy Cross seniors Kyle London, Georgio Klidonas and Thomas Young, who volunteered their time to DJ the event:. "It was great to see kids of different ages come together with the music," London exclaimed. "Everyone was there to have fun and they did. They were dancing the whole time!"
