Kiwanis Kicks Off Annual Food Drive

The Kiwanis Club of Astoria-Long Island City launched its annual Community Food Collection and Giveaway Drive at Washington Mutual on Monday, November 10. In attendance, were Kiwanis President Paul Vallone, Immediate Past President Tony Siano and Board Members Paul Halvatzis, William Dionisio and Michael Serao, Washington Mutual assistant vice president. Every year since its Food Collection Drive began in 1986, the Kiwanis Club of Astoria-Long Island City has helped the less fortunate in the Queens community by giving away much needed canned foods and various goods to churches and civic organizations at more than 15 designated locations throughout Northeast Queens.
