Mobile Banking Center Visits Assisted Living Facility

Onboard the Ridgewood Savings Bank Mobile Banking Center, Brandywine at the Savoy resident Frances Schmidt, assisted by Govinda Dewdat, a Ridgewood Savings Counselor assigned to the Mobile Banking Center, opened a new Money Market account. Ridgewood Savings Bank announced the expansion of its successful "mobile banking" concept by bringing its full-service Mobile Banking Center to the doorstep of Brandywine Assisted Living at the Savoy, an assisted living facility in Little Neck. This is part of the first-ever program of its kind in New York state, according to bank officials and the New York State Banking Department.

On a day in late August, Brandywine at the Savoy residents first walked out the facility's front door to experience their "branch-on-wheels", a specially designed vehicle equipped with interior and exterior teller windows, exterior ATM, private office, customer service desk and wheelchair access. Fully staffed by bank personnel, the branch is 40 feet long, 8 feet wide and 12 feet high. According to bank officials, the Mobile Banking Center stops at Brandywine Assisted Living at the Savoy on a biweekly schedule to ensure that residents' banking needs are conveniently met.

On August 20, the Ridgewood Savings Bank Mobile Banking Center made its inaugural visit to the residents of the Brandywine Assisted Living at the Savoy facility in Little Neck. Participating in the ceremonial ribbon cutting were (l. to r.): Ridgewood Savings Bank Senior Vice President Walter Reese, Ridgewood Savings Bank Assistant Vice President and District Manager Monica Zanotti, Ruth Rosenberg, Brandywine at the Savoy Activities and Entertainment Director Jean Schissler, Brandywine resident Evelyn Wolf, Mobile Banking Center Branch Manager Kimberly Nathanail, Brandywine resident Pauline Feinblatt, Mobile Banking Center Assistant Branch Manager Cathy Scibelli and Ridgewood Savings Bank Vice President Thomas Ritter. Withdrawing cash and opening up Money Market Accounts have been among the most common banking services utilized. Ridgewood's first Mobile Banking Center customer was Brandywine resident Frances Schmidt. She was among a number of residents excited to find that the Mobile Banking Center visits Brandywine at the Savoy twice a month.

"Ridgewood's Mobile Banking Center is providing a wonderful service to our community, staff and residents," Brandywine at the Savoy Activities and Entertainment Director Jean Schissler said. "It is often difficult to get our residents to their individual banks because of inclement weather or because they are just not able, for whatever reason, to manipulate the trip. We are very pleased that Ridgewood's Mobile Banking Center will be at our front door every other Wednesday."

Residents at Brandywine at the Savoy have access to a full range of services, including:

• Opening new accounts • Making deposits • Making withdrawals • Cashing checks • Transferring funds between accounts • Applying for loans

• Purchasing money orders and teller checks.
