Air Force General Visits FDNY Headquarters


On Thursday, November 6 (l. to r.) FDNY Chief of Operations Patrick McNally, New York City Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta and Chief of Department Salvatore Cassano listened as four-star General Victor E. Renuart, head of U.S. Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command, visiting FDNY headquarters, discussed how the city and the U.S. Department of Defense can share information and coordinate resources to better respond in the event of a terrorist attack or other disaster. "Working together, we can build upon the safety and security of this city and our nation," Scoppetta said. "The vast resources and capabilities of the U.S. military, connected with the local expertise and highly trained staff at this department, should assure everyone we're ready to respond in any emergency."
