T-Bone Diner

107-48 Queens Boulevard Forest Hills, NY 718.261.7744

c ome visit the T-Bone Diner, a gastronomic landmark, open since 1934. The T-Bone Diner is prominently located on Queens Blvd, a block away from the Midway Theatre, with easy access to several trains. Peter Plevrites

and brother George, maintain their fine reputation

by serving up home style food made with fresh ingredients at a great price, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. With daily specials for lunch and dinner, there is always something new and delicious cooking at the T-Bone.

In addition to great breakfast and lunch at the TBone, there are fabulous dinner entrées made from scratch and offered at great prices. You can't beat the Complete Dinner Special, served Monday through Friday. At prices from $9.95 to $15.95, your complete dinner includes house made soup or a crunchy salad, entrée, and a complimentary glass of wine. Even a family on a budget could afford to eat out at these prices. With different entrées to choose from each night, there's always something new to try. Monday's potted chicken or beef stew will stick to your ribs, and Tuesday's roast leg of veal is hard to resist. Wednesday features a whole lamb shank, cooked to perfection so the meat slides right off the bone and old fashioned chicken pot pie. I'll be back on Friday for beef goulash and stuffed peppers. Saturdays and Sundays feature

roast leg of lamb or roast loin of pork. The accompanying mashed potatoes or French fries and vegetables round out these delicious meals. The signature T-Bone steak is a classic, hefty, sizzling T-Bone, cooked to order and served with crunchy onion rings and mushroom caps ($21.95). The expert grill man also cooks up juicy shell steak, marinated skirt steak and center cut pork chops. Enjoy a glass of wine, beer or a cocktail with your meal.

Fish and seafood dishes are a real treat at the TBone Diner, where the fish is purchased and prepared fresh daily, and is never frozen. Broiled Alaskan salmon is one of the most popular items, as is the fresh, flaky Boston scrod. George's favorites include chunks of

salmon over linguine with garlic, extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil. Juicy lobster and shrimp are available any day, prepared any way you'd like. I love Greek specialties and you'll find perhaps the best moussaka and spinach pie at the T-Bone. The moussaka is a flavorful blend of ground meat and spices layered on top with sliced potato and béchamel sauce. The spinach pie is thick with fresh spinach and bits of feta cheese in a flaky pastry. Share these as a first course or order them as an entrée with Greek salad. The pastitsio, Greek style baked pasta, is also excellent. Breakfast at the T-Bone, which is served all day, can be anything from two eggs over easy to a stack of flap jacks with syrup. French toast is made with white bread or thick cut challah and Belgian waffles with your favorite topping make a great nighttime

snack after a movie at the Midway. They'll make great egg sandwiches to take away with you, as the subway is right outside. The coffee is great and the service is fast and friendly.

Lunch has literally dozens of options such as the grilled chicken Caesar wrap with melted Swiss cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato and healthy wrap sandwiches like the Mediterranean, stuffed with feta cheese, tomato and lettuce. There are mile-high roast beef and turkey sandwiches, chicken salad, egg salad and triple decker sandwiches. A whole page of burgers offers something for everyone.

It wouldn't be a landmark diner without dazzling desserts and the T-Bone excels in this area too. Baklava, creamy cheese cake, plain, or with fruit, rice pudding, bread pudding, strawberry shortcake, carrot cake and German chocolate cake with coconut are all made on the premises. They proudly serve Sedutto ice cream to create banana splits and sundaes, and the coffee is great. Kids love the T-Bone Diner, not only for the desserts, but also for the kid's menu specials.

Visit the landmark T-Bone Diner, open seven days a week, twenty four hours a day. Free delivery to your home or office too. Fresh, home style food, great prices, fast and friendly service and people who care, will put the T-Bone Diner tops on your list.
